About This Tour

Explore the Hidden Gem of the North Coast

Puerto Plata is far more than white-sand beaches — it's a city steeped in history, color and Dominican culture. On this half-day City Tour you'll see all the highlights without the hassle of planning a thing.

The adventure begins with the Teleférico, the only cable car in the Caribbean, carrying you 800 meters up Mount Isabel de Torres. At the summit you'll find botanical gardens and a 38-meter Christ the Redeemer statue, a twin of Rio de Janeiro's, with breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean.

Back in the city, wander the Victorian-era historic center: snap photos under the iconic Umbrella Street (Calle de las Sombrillas) and the charming Paseo de Doña Blanca (Pink Street). Explore Central Park and learn about Puerto Plata's colonial past and amber heritage.

The tour reaches the San Felipe Fortress (Fortaleza San Felipe), one of the oldest Spanish fortifications in the Americas, built in 1577 to defend the city from pirates. Its hilltop location offers spectacular ocean views.

Along the way you'll get a taste of authentic Dominican life — local rum, handcrafted chocolate and the warm hospitality our island is known for. A friendly bilingual guide brings every stop to life.
